Yesterday I went to the parent-teacher conference with Timothy(弟弟)'s teacher, Mrs. Huggins.

I was prepared to hear that Timothy is doing well at school, but Mrs. Huggin's words surprised me...

Here are what she said:
"Timothy is the highest on the list of all my students. He does so well, in all the subjects."
"Timothy is a leader, he is willing to help other kids"
"Timothy draws so well, he is an artist...everytime he draws other kids would gather around him to see how he draws and they say "I want to learn to draw like how Timothy draws" "
"Timothy has great behavior, he never gets in trouble. I never have any problem with Timothy"
.....

Mrs. Huggins also asked me what kind of preschool did Timothy and Jacob go to.. she was surprised it's only a church half-day preschool.

Mrs. Huggins asked me why I didn't let Timothy test to skip Kindergarten...
oh, I didn't even know there is such test in Richardson school district....
but I told her, I'd rather let Timothy stay with his same-age group kids.. don't want him to feel he is the smallest in his class.
I believe kids social skills(E.Q) is more important than academic skills...
I want him to grow in a very relaxed learning environment.....

Mrs. Huggins also told me she would be VERY VERY VERY surprised if Timothy doesn't get into REACH(gifted children) program because
even the REACH teacher thinks Timothy is a very gifted child.

Timothy was pulled aside for REACH testing one day by himself because he was late, and when the REACH teacher took him back.
she said "WOW, Timothy IS good!! ".. and the REACH teacher think Timothy should definitely be in the REACH program.

I told Mrs. Huggins Timothy tells me 100 times he is bored at home everyday.
Mrs. Huggins said she wouldn't be surprised because Timothy is so much above-level.
She showed me the reading materials they are going to take home to read, I told her they are way too easy for Timothy.
So she pulled out the harder ones, I asked Timothy to read to show her, and after reading 1 page, Mrs. Huggins said "well, that's the hardest material I have".
I told her, it's ok, we borrow like 20+ books from the library everyweek, so Jacob and Timothy have plenty to read.

Mrs, Huggins said she will  try to give him more advanced materials (math, reading) to work on at school...
I am a little concerned that Timothy feels bored at school because things are too easy for him.
He has commented several times that he doesn't learn anything new from school, everything the teacher teaches he has already known...

To be honest, I am not really teaching him too much at home. I think he is just a smart kid. He is a self-learner and he learns from watching Jacob.

He now reads about the same-level reading materials as Jacob. Jacob still knows more vocabulary than Timothy, but Timothy can read books like Magic school bus with
no problem(it's a 2nd grade+  level).

I guess I will just continue borrowing books for them to read at home...

The boys ask for reading like it's a reward, every night they bargain with me...
"How many minutes can we read? please we want to read more!! "

(YES, all 3 kids LOVE to read!! Even Acacia!! YAY!)

I want to instill this good habit in them. Reading is the foundation of all knowledge.

You go Timothy, you make mommy a very proud mommy!!!
I love you.
Now daddy is convinced it's a wise decision that mommy stays home with our kids !!

Staying at home and wacthing them grow is the BEST job I can ever find on the earth!!
