So we have a date. On Sunday 7/23 I will go to Baylor Garland hospital to start inducing. The time is 5:30pm, and I should be there at about 5pm with all my bags and stuff. On Sunday night after I check in they will put medication in my cervix to start softening it up and starts the dialation process, and on Monday morning I will probably start having pitocin if labor hasn't picked up fast enough.

It's so good to finally get a date. Now I know when Acacia is coming I can really start preparing mentally. So I have about a week before I see our little girl.

This morning when I went to my last OB visit, I weighed about the same(or gained about 1 pound) as last week. My BP was 110/70, perfect as usual. Brother Mike did an internal exam and said I am about 2 cms dialated. I asked him if we can set a date and he said I will have to go take another sonogram for size of the baby... I really did't want to because I already went 3 times and had to spend $20 each time copay. After the sonogram Dr. Graham & brother Mike decided I will be induced on Monday, and I will go into the hopspital on Sunday afternoon. Mike asked me again this morning what happened to my last labor, I told him because Timothy was so big I had a 4th degree tear. And he shook his head and said no we don't want this baby to be that big again. So that's the whole point of induction. Hopefully it will be a much easier delivery for me. I surely hope so too because I totally remember the pain I had from the tear last time.

At the sonogram Dr. Graham showed me the hair on baby's head. He said lots of hair and it's funny to see hair floating in the water. almost like little grass waving in the wind.

Philip will go buy the Taiwan rice wine in downtown Dallas. I asked for a discount because we will buy a dozen. It's still quite expensive. But this is the kind that doesn't have any salt and directly imported from Taiwan so it should be better. This is the same kind that I used both times with my boys. Sister Li-ling used to buy them for me since it's close to her work but this time we feel it's better that Philip go pick them up so we don't bother Liling too much because these glass bottles are heavy.

I taught Michelle her last piano lesson yesterday and it won't resume until at least 1 month after the baby. She has been a brillent student, learning so fast and it was easy to teach her.

I also bought
Mustela Post Partum Body Restructuring Gel on line from ebay. It's much cheaper. Hopefully it will help my tummy go back to it's normal size and shape. I think we are about ready for everything that I and the baby will need. Now just the last few days of waiting.

I have 2 wonderful kids. They played by themselves happily and let me take a 2 hour nap. In between my long nap, I did hear them getting on each other's nerve and some arguments and crying, but they were so nice they didn't come into the room. They just figured out ways to solve problems and continue playing together. I am SO relieved. I think when Acacia is born we will be able to get the rest we need now the boys are so good entertaining themselves.

Today we didn't go out of the house at all. It's just too hot to get out there... Timothy after lunch asked if he could do homework, I was surprised but stayed calm and said, "sure" ! and he was excited. He finished reading a small book and writing his math very fast and Jacob also did his homework very efficiently. I am starting to think I really have 2 angels at home.

People are starting to call and ask if I've delivered yet. I myself am getting curious when I will actually deliver the baby. It's such a waiting game, with no answer and each day I wonder if contractions will start. I am really not in a hurry now anymore. I enjoy the time with my 2 boys and am kind of scared of the busy and tiring days to come following Acacia's arrival.

My tummy has definitely dropped some. It's really sitting on my thighs when I sit... and it looks smaller for some reason. Acacia's movements also slowed down a little. I think she is very crowded in there. I've already packed the hopital bag.. actually I don't have too much stuff in there.. just some clothes and toiletry. Since we live so close to the hospital I can always ask Philip to come home and get me stuff if I need.

Jacob keeps saying he wants to know what Acacia looks like.. me too!!  The 3rd child should probably be more of a mix of both sides I think. I think she is going to have a chubby face just like her 2 brothers.

Last night starting at 8pm I started to have stomache pain... they were not contractions for the 1st 2 hours or so because they had no break in between and I was sure it's something I ate for dinner(probably 苦瓜), by the time Philip got home from school at around 10pm, I think contractions started to come... of course in bewteen I had vomitted and also 拉肚子 several times... VERY uncomfortable. When I realized they were contraction pains I started timing them... not regular at all... and it lasted until 2am and I finally drifted off to sleep.. then only to be awaken by pain at 4am. Really a terrible night. But by 5am the pain was all gone... ok they must have been just those practicing "false" contractions... braxton hicks. I really don't need to practice ok? I am a pro already(being the 3rd pregnancy), so contractions, just come when it's real labor... no more practicing rehearsals for me PLEASE!!

Jacob lost his front tooth this afternoon while watching TV with his brother. Well, actually Timothy's foot hit Jacob's tooth accidentally and knocked the loose tooth off... it was actually pretty funny thinking about it. Of course Jacob was a little scared when he saw a tooth on his clothes and ran to me crying.... I made lots of positive comments about it and wash the tooth and put it in the tooth storage thing our dentist gave him last time. I am glad this loose tooth finally came off... Timothy certainly did a good job knocking it off !! I told Jacob he should be very proud to lose another baby tooth... especially the front one... that means he is growing up ! And we can already see the new tooth coming out. Neat!

Just a quick update of my sonogram this morning:

Baby is about 7 lbs now (6 lbs 15 oz) and if I deliver near due date(in 3 weeks) she will be about the same as Jacob and Timothy . Today I had a different doctor today. He was much nicer and took longer (not in a huge rush like Dr. Graham) to check on the baby, he tried to buzz the baby but she was very stubborn she didn't want to show us her face today. She was facing downward which is the correct position to be born. The doctor said her head is very low, getting ready to be born. She was kicking the sonogram handheld device and made the doctor laugh a few times. She is measuring about a week ahead so really very healthy and well.

I guess we won't know when the induction date will be until next Monday when I go in for OB check up.

p.s. Here is a photo of the boys in our ice cream store holding the Bigtom Sign:

Well, nothing exciting is happening here.. This morning I went in for my 37th week OB visit and I was disappointed we didn't schedule an induction date. Mike wants to hear the result of my sonogram tomorrow after the baby's size is checked then he can schedule the induction date. I guess I really should take it easy... no matter what the original due date is only 3 weeks away, and after the baby is here we will all be so tired. So I really should wait patiently and enjoy the last days of just me and the 2 boys.

The baby's heart beat was 160/minute and my bp was 70/110... I didn't gain any weight since last time(10 days ago) so my weight gain has stablized which is great. Well I haven't been snacking as much recently and I am sure it helped.

I will start packing the hospital bag today... I don't want to bring too much stuff to the hospital but I want to make sure I have the things I need there during the 2 days 2 nights stay.

This morning after I came back from the OB visit, I helped both boys with phonics and math homeworks. And they did so well, finished everything I assigned in a short period of time. I am determined to continue teaching them even after Acacia comes and I will be so tired. I still want to try to do it everyday so the boys continue to learn and progress. After homework they did some crafts and watched a TV cartoon and now after lunch they are playing with toys. I told them we should do homework in the mornings from now on so the rest of the day they can do stuff they enjoy. And they like that idea.

I will update after the sonogram tomorrow. I am very curious how big Acacia is now!!

I think I want to choose the name "黃尚惟" for Acacia's Chinese name. We will call her
"
惟" and it sounds pretty sweet. "" can mean several things. First of all she is the only girl we have, and also there are some great hymns that use "惟". Like "惟見榮耀裡的基督",  "惟知道我所信的是誰"..... so it's really a good word. Still undecided about her English middle name. I like Grace but it's so common... Maybe just use Wei... we will see.

Yesterday was America's birthday. Happy Birthday, USA!!

Our ice cream store is open(Bigtom Premium Ice Cream). Cecilia, you are VERY welcome to come and taste our yummy ice cream!! Email me peggyhuang3140@hotmail.com  so I can give you info of the store and I will give you some good coupons to use :0)
Here is the website of our store:
http://www.bigtomicecream.com/default.htm

Daddy has been very busy with the new store now open. After work he usually goes into the store and check if everything is going smoothly. Yesterday was July 4th and near our store was where the fireworks displayed(Fire Wheel Town center, Garland), so tons of cars filled the parking lot. We had the best sales record yesterday, and lots of people enjoyed our ice cream. We still need to make our store known to more people, because we are confident once customers taste our all natural, organic premium ice cream they will come back for more!! We as owners also have to pay when buying ice cream so we limit our visit to about once a week(because we want to set up a good example for our staff). The boys love the tropical mango flavor and I love our green tea & Strawberry flavors... SO YUMMY!!!

On America's birthday yesterday, I didn't do very well because I ate something(not sure what) in the morning and I started having stomache all day, I was so weak, having terrible pain and having to go to the restroom often. At first I thought, maybe I was in labor, but soon I realized it's my tummy that's hurting, not contractions. But I am sure Acacia didn't feel well inside either because she was kicking so hard all day. So the boys were very cooperative and they played by themselves in the living room while I spent all day in bed. At night, daddy put them to sleep around 9pm, and by 9:40pm I heard the fireworks(we thought they were cancelled because of rain), so I hurried up and told daddy let's go and see the fireworks, so daddy got the boys up from bed(they were already asleep, and Jacob said he just started his sweet dream :)) we all got into the van with our pajamas, and we drove toward our store. We did see the very last part of the fireworks and I was glad we didn't miss it totally because it only happens once a year! Daddy parked near our ice cream store and he went into the store to help since there were so many people, and he also went to pass out the coupon.flyers in the parking lot. As for us 3, we could only stay in the van because we didn't have shoes on and I was wearing a short pajama... not a pretty sight!! We had to wait for about 1 hour before daddy got back to the van to take us home. I was surely glad I didn't have to go to the restroom during that time!!!

Last week after my OB visit I had to go to Grapevine Baylor for a sonogram check of the baby. I took the boys, picked up daddy at work and went to have a sonogram, much to our disappointment, Dr. Graham didn't do a size check(which was what I was there for), because it has only been 1+ week since he last did one. He said it has to be 3 weeks to do another size check. So he quickly looked at the baby, of course baby was all perfect and healthy in my tummy. The doctor also pointed out there is hair on baby's head!! haha. I am glad our princess is not bald.  So I made another sonogram appointment for next Monday(after my OB visit) to do a size check of the baby.

Brother Mike is in CA attending the training. He was really worried about me and asked me if he could go to the training. I told him of course he can go, I will wait for him to come back to have the baby!! And he said, if the baby is coming, he will fly 4 hours immediately to deliver my baby. It was very sweet for him to be so caring. I am not only a patient of him, I am his sister in Christ and he really cares for us. How precious!! I am so glad this time I chose to have him as my OB. Don't know why I didn't do that with my 2 boys.

So on Monday 7/10 we will set a day for induction. I can't wait to have a day set so I know when baby will come. I still haven't packed my hospital bag, In the meantime, I hope Acacia continues to grow bigger, so she will be nice and big when she enters the world. Well, maybe not as big as her brothers ... ouch!!

Since daddy took today off we went to Dallas Children Museum in the morning. Daddy has never been there, and he was very surprised to see how small and "sorry" it was. Well, I told him, at least we have one in Dallas. I wish we have one like Houston's or at least Austin's. Ours is so small and so outdated... poor Dallas kids. Today the subject was about Planetarium. The boys did some outerspace crafts, listened to the story and played a little bit (also ate free moon cookies). Then we went to eat lunch then daddy went to have his haircut. I do the boys' haircut but I don't cut daddy's hair very well, of course I blame it to his weird head shape...

The home stretch waiting is driving me crazy!! I feel like I want the baby NOW!! The baby is getting bigger each day and I am getting more and more uncomfortable. My pelvic bones hurt so much, because the baby's head is coming down gradually and sitting right on top of it. I can't sleep at night because there is absolutely no position that's comfortable. I know my body is being prepared for the after birth sleepless nights but still... I want to get some sleep before the baby comes!!!

Yesterday morning I went in for 35th week checkup... everything is perfect as usual. The baby's heartbeat was 158/minute, and she is again measuring big, 36 cm (2 weeks ahead). I told brother Mike I would really want to have the baby now... and he said, no, still too early... I know I know... just hoping I don't have to wait too much longer. Brother Mike recalculated my due date and based on the sonogram taken on Monday the new due date is 7/22, so maybe I will have the baby in the middle of July... Oh I can't wait!!! Today I am feeling better... I've decided I need to let Acacia grow as big as possible before she comes out so she has the best possible health and no matter how big she gets I will be able to push her out... I shouldn't be selfish and want her to be lighter weighted... last time I could push out an almost 9 pounder, this time I can surely do it.

And I decided to stop worrying about the need to clean our house thoroughly before the baby arrives. She will not know anyway(all she will do is eat and sleep and maybe cry)!! With her 2 big brothers messing the house everyday it's impossible to keep it all nice and clean. Plus I will be at the hospital for 2-3 days... I won't be able to control those days when I am away... so I should relax and not try to pick up every little thing on the floor and get frustrated by that.

I will need to pack a bag for the hospital in the coming weeks. I want to look more presentable this time after birth, maybe bring some makeup and regular clothes. Last time I was in pajamas the whole time and didn't look good at all in the pictures... haha

Jacob finished his level 2 swimming lessons. This year we won't go to more lessons because time is running out... and I will just take them swimming and have fun. His free style strokes look really awesome!! Even better then me!! He just needs to work on breathing.. but I can't ask for too much, his teacher said for a 6 year old he is doing much more advanced then average kids. I am so proud of him. He is such a good learner and works hard to do good. He also finished grade 1 math(additions). Last night we went to Barnes & Noble to buy a grade 2 math practice book(substrations) for him. He is excited to do math everyday and his level 5 hooked on phonics is almost done too.. when he finishes level 5 he will be equal to an 8 year old level. Wow!! What an achievement!!

Timothy on the other hand only likes to draw.. he is not too interested in learning phonics yet. I don't want to push him because I know he is still young for that and he already knows all the letter phonic sounds and learning to recognize words when he sees them.

Our ice cream store is almost ready to open. Today people are doing the final touch -ups and if customers come they can buy. Finally. I hope the Lord will bless our investment and this small business will be for His interest. Although we are co-owners of the store, we won't be able to eat for free because we all need to be fair. It will be hard to let the boys realize they can't ask for free ice cream everytime we go in the store. We also need to pay!! Philip was joking maybe we should print our own "buy all for free" coupon!!

Here is a picture of Acacia's face... not very clear but I was happy to see her again.

Well, the sonogram went well(and fast!!)... Acacia is now 100% a girl(with NO doubts as everyone saw her girl parts).

She is measuring about 2 weeks bigger(35 weeks 4 days) and is 5 lbs and 9 oz (2540g) now. The doctor said its the normal range and in 3 weeks I should get another sonogram to determine when the induction will be. Well I actually hope in 3 weeks I will deliver Acacia because she will be 37 weeks and considered full term. By the rate she is measuring, she will probably be 7 lbs + in 3 weeks which will be ideal. The doctor did something (a buzzing vibrator) on my tummy to make Acacia turn(Acacia actually jumped I hope she wasn't scared!!) so we could see her face. Looked like she has a chubby face, but the image wasn't really very clear(unlike the 3 D images people have in Taiwan), and I think she looks like Jacob more... which will be cute anyway!!

The doctor measured everything very fast, my fluid, her head, tummy, leg bone, heart, spine, arm... and everything looks great! I am so glad Acacia is such a healthy baby. Thank the Lord!!

I am now thinking I will ask my mom to be in delivery with me. And I will find somewhere to put the boys... maybe at Andy's or Cherie's. I know my mom will love to see her grandchild born and this is the last opportunity I can give her so I want to work out things so she can be there. If I schedule an induction it will be perfect because for an induction I usually go in the early morning and have the baby in the early afternoon so it should be fine for the boys to stay at someone's house and play while we give birth and then they can come and see their baby sister then my mom can take them home.... sounds like a plan!!
