這是尚豪上週在學校寫的
"’如果我是總統" - 得滿分
哈... 如果他是總統 他想要製造一堆會做家事的機器人
看來 他真的知道媽媽的辛苦阿
If I were a president, I would gather some crew people and a factory.
I would tell everybody to create servants that are robots.
They would help people with their chores.
I would live in the white house and do paperwork of rules to plan.
I would sell super helper droids and Jetpacks and become rich.
I will use my money to buy a laptop and supplies for a new factory.
I would make a cool MMC's(a kind of machine that helps you do stuff).
A MMC makes you go to bed.

My dear boy Timothy,
Mommy would like to write you an email once in a while..
to let you know what I'd like to tell you..
(1) yesterday at the dentist, you did a great job!! I am very proud of you for cleaning your teeth well everyday.
(2) Sometimes you get frustrated, thinking we all don't listen to what you say.. but the truth is, most times I am busy trying to spread my attention to my 3 kids.. I sure wish I had 3 sets of ears, so I could listen to each of you at all times.
But dear, please remember, mommy loves you and your brother and sister just the same. From now on, mommy hopes to spend some time alone with you everyday, just to listen to you. OK? Let's do that starting today!!
(3) You are a responsible kid. Mommy is very proud of you.
(4) Mommy and daddy hope that everyday you can learn to use your voice correctly. No loud voices or screaming. By talking softly, your throat (vocal chord) is protected. And if sometimes we can't hear you, would you please be patient and just let mommy know, that you have something to share with me?
As always, I love you very much, my precious little boy!!

尚豪8歲生日
難以相信
我的寶貝小兒子已經8歲了
這一年來尚豪有很多很多的長大
不但身體長胖了(因為開始游泳的關係)
也有懂事一些
雖然哥哥常常惹他生氣
但是慢慢的弟弟開始學習
怎麼調適自己的情緒
加油歐 黃二哥~~
弟弟二年級
很幸運的排在Ms DaVaney的班上
以前每天回家都會叫 "I HATE school"
到現在開學1個半月
竟然一次都沒說過
媽媽真的太開心了

{豪} REACH brown bag presentation: 馬友友( 補我和馬友友照片啦)
尚豪在學校上的資優課程REACH
這學期有一個很大個Project
叫做 Brown Bag Presentation
Brown Bag就是用買菜購物用的紙袋
自己在裡面外面都裝飾，然後發揮自己的想像力
一個人選一個人物對象來研究，然後介紹給全班同學
這個功課對於小一的弟弟
其實不是太容易，
因為要research找資料
還要把資料融會貫通
然後還要想要怎樣來介紹。
我們很早就選好一些人物，讓老師來圈選
結果，是揚名中外的華裔音樂家，馬友友
馬友友對媽媽我來說，是有特別的感情的。
當然因為我是音樂班長大的，從很年輕就很崇拜馬友友
他很英俊，大提琴拉的沒話說的動人，最重要的，
是他是近代唯一一個世界知名的華裔演奏家。
好像大家都聽過他吧。

[豪] 冷死人的寫生比賽 + 考進游泳班了!!!!
週六早上是弟弟的寫生比賽
說實在的, 我根本就不想去..因為天氣還是很冷阿..
一大早的, 一家五口去公園吹冷風...真的是瘋了
可是弟弟畫畫老師希望大家都去參加
就算是一堂課了
拜託, 老師你也太混了..
一堂課要很多coco的耶..
爸爸說, 去吧去吧..
去玩也好阿
(os: 誰要去玩阿..我們想呆在家啦)
我們慢慢的吃完早餐
到公園, 比賽已經開始45分鐘了
弟弟有點兒生氣
他說, 我的時間比較少耶..怎麼畫完

你還是把老媽我殺了比較快..

一起做尚豪的生日蛋糕
尚豪生日那天爸爸出差不在家
所以幾天前我們就提早慶祝.
這是尚豪和尚傑等了快3個月的禮物
我們暑假就買了,
但是和兄弟們約定好,
要到尚豪生日才拆封
兄弟倆常常跑去看他們的禮物
媽媽很驚訝他們真的可以等那麼久
真是訓練耐力的好方法
遙控汽車, 在還很空曠的sunroom玩最適合啦~
上星期天, 我們自己做蛋糕給尚豪
這是cheesecake
兄弟倆從頭開始就幫忙作
大家都好開心哩

My dear boy, Timothy,
Today, you turn 7 years old.
How fast time just flew by,
I can't believe the sweet baby boy that just came out of me
has become a fine young 7 year old boy.
Before you were born,
we loved you with all our hearts,
Your coming to this world has brought so much joy to our lives.
You have been the best companion to your big brother, Jacob.
You were always by each other's side, with all the laughters, tears,
you truly are the best friends there can be.
You have always been mommy's boy.
The most handsome and smartest little boy Mommy has ever laid her eyes on.

{Timothy} 尚豪的6歲畫畫展 (上集)
尚豪從小就很愛畫畫,
也很有天份,
我一直知道他很愛畫畫
很小就可以一個人靜靜的坐老半天
畫畫
但是發現他畫的很好
是他4歲上preschool
第一個老師, Mrs. Phyllis
告訴我的.
她說,她教小朋友幾十年,
第一次遇到這麼會畫畫的4歲幼童.
弟弟的細部肌肉動作顯然發展的很好,
加上觀察力很敏銳
又很愛想像,
所以畫的...

弟弟的游泳課...告一段落哩..
昨天是弟弟跟Brittany最後一次游泳課,
從完全不會,
到會游自由式和仰式
弟弟在12堂課之後,
進步真的很多..
弟弟最喜歡游仰式
蛙式因為老師最晚教,
所以比較不熟練.
我還在考慮要不要讓弟弟今年加入
魔鬼金教練的訓練班,
怕他體力不夠
會上的很辛苦,
加上魔鬼金教練很兇.
愛大吼大叫..
........

弟弟的游泳課
弟弟上了3次的 游泳課,
進步神速,
老師教他游自由式,他已經可以換2次氣,游一段距離了.
Britaney是我們社區游泳池的專任教練,
她還是個大學生,
暑假教小朋友打工賺錢.
我覺得她教的很好,
不像有些老師打混的利害,
她幾乎不浪費一點時間.
上個別課雖然貴一點,
但是進度快很多.
看來弟弟這個暑假可以學會游泳.
太好啦~~

{Timothy} REACH資優班家長會
昨天去學校,跟弟弟的REACH資優班老師談談弟弟這學期的表現.
老師說她很高興教到弟弟這個小孩,因為弟弟各方面都令她很滿意.
她說她很驚訝的發現,弟弟是個很有創意(creative),而且邏輯很清楚(logical)的人.
She said she was very surprised to find Timothy being a child both very creative and logical at the same time.
通常她教過的學生只會表現出一種特質:很有創意 or 邏輯很清楚.
她說這表示弟弟的左右腦都很發達....
哈哈哈...頭腦壯壯的弟弟...
她把弟弟平常做的練習給我看, 叫我看弟弟的寫字很乾淨整齊..
對阿,我也很好奇,一樣是教2個小孩, 哥哥的字像是狗啃的...
弟弟的字...比媽媽還工整...
她說弟弟畫的畫,她在考弟弟入REACH資優班的時候, 就特別被吸引,
因為弟弟可以畫很微小的東西,卻是非常細膩(intricate)..
我回家還查了這個字的意思,因為不太確定..
intricate: having many complexly interrelating parts or elements (有很複雜,相關的部分和內容)
她說在這班上只有3個小朋友,弟弟幫他加入很多豐富的交流,
弟弟是唯一的男生,
但是弟弟不會在意,
還很認真的學習.
Mrs. Swain還說,
弟弟是個很有責任感的小孩,
每次該帶的folder, 文具,作業,
都帶的很完整,不會漏掉東西.
下學期開始,弟弟會有一個新的Reach老師,
並且會和1~3年級的小朋友一起混合學習.
老師說弟弟會學更多,因為他有比他大的學習對象.
而且. 教學的內容會很多方面,
很深入的學習...

Timothy's drawings
Timothy has been going to art class for 1+ month now... his skills are advancing in a very fast speed...
I am amazed at how well he draws most of the time.
He is a very good little artist!!

弟弟考上REACH資優班
上星期, 接到RISD寄來的通知信, 說弟弟通過資優考試, 將會在接下來的6.5年 接受 REACH資優班的特別教育, 一直到小學畢業.
說真的, 我很高興, 除了一點點驕傲, 家里有個資優生, 主要是高興弟弟能學更多適合他的東西.
REACH 是我們Richardson學區辦的特別資優教育, 對象是 "Gifted" 小孩. 它特別強調, 是gifted, 跟talented 不一樣.
就好像我弟弟小時後唸的資優班, 主要是給智商比較高, 思維方式和別的小孩不同的. 不是聰明的小孩就有資格.
弟弟被REACH老師測試了好幾次，每次都是不同的方面。
弟弟的結果是這樣 :

弟弟上了第一次的繪畫課
在這一點過年的氣氛都沒有, 我們一家也什麼特別的都沒有做...
啊,倒是有趁著天氣回暖的週末, 去動物園走走.
德州天氣善變的, 像一個更年期的女人, 叫人無法捉摸, 它下一刻的變化是怎樣..
每天起床第一件事, 就是上網查溫度. 不然小朋友上學, 不是太熱, 就是太冷....真煩.
弟弟上了第一次的繪畫課. 弟弟從小就一直愛畫畫, 每天都畫, 畫的比大家都好. 主要是觀察力很敏銳, 細部肌肉又很發達..
這裡一個蠻有名的大陸老師, 想報名還得等waiting list.. 正好有一班有個空位，只是，這班已經學了４級(１年半)...
幫弟弟買好上課材料，週六第一次去班上看看。
弟弟興奮了好幾天，每天都在算還有幾天。
終於等到禮拜六。
哇，老師在教３D的畫法。立體的東西，還有陰影咧。。我暗暗想，拜託，也太深了吧。
因為妹妹吵，把拔帶我們先離開，順便去圖書館借書。
下了課去接弟弟，老師說弟弟下筆很穩, 觀察力又好, 可以上，沒問題。他會慢慢把以前的教弟弟。

GO GO GO Timothy!!!
Yesterday I went to the parent-teacher conference with Timothy(弟弟)'s teacher, Mrs. Huggins.
I was prepared to hear that Timothy is doing well at school, but Mrs. Huggin's words surprised me...
Here are what she said:
"Timothy is the highest on the list of all my students. He does so well, in all the subjects."
"Timothy is a leader, he is willing to help other kids"
"Timothy draws so well, he is an artist...everytime he draws other kids would gather around him to see how he draws and they say "I want to learn to draw like how Timothy draws" "
"Timothy has great behavior, he never gets in trouble. I never have any problem with Timothy"

Mrs. Huggins also asked me what kind of preschool did Timothy and Jacob go to.. she was surprised it's only a church half-day preschool.
Mrs. Huggins asked me why I didn't let Timothy test to skip Kindergarten...
oh, I didn't even know there is such test in Richardson school district....
but I told her, I'd rather let Timothy stay with his same-age group kids.. don't want him to feel he is the smallest in his class.
I believe kids social skills(E.Q) is more important than academic skills...
I want him to grow in a very relaxed learning environment.....

Timothy turns 6 !!
My baby boy Timothy is no longer a little boy. He is now a big 6 years old!!
For his birthday cake he chose the character "Go Diego Go", so we went to Party city to buy the Diego candle and yesterday morning I went to Kroger and found this cute little cake.. with a little decoration, it became a favorite cake for Timothy.
Mommy also bought Timothy a soccer ballon.. since he really enjoyed playing soccer..
Acacia was very curious about the cake.. but she was a good girl she didn't touch it!!
aunt Cherie, Henna, and Tirzah were our special guests!!
Happy birday, our sweetheart!!

Timothy finished level 4 today !!! (hooked on phonics)
Usually I had to ask Timothy to read his homework... hooked on phonics. But last night he kept asking me, "can I do my homework now? I want to finish level 4 so I can start level 5". And I actually asked him to wait after I helped Jacob with his math homework. So last night Timothy read about 6 pages of the workbook as well as the last story book of level 4. He was VERY proud of himself!! And of course I was very happy to see him being so confident of himself.
This morning everyone got up super early. Daddy left the house at 6+am to the airport for his 2 day Houston business trip. All 3 kids got up at 7am, so after Jacob got out of the door Timothy wanted to read his level 5 workbook. After finishing level 5 in a month or so, his reading level will be at 2nd grade(8 years old). And he is only 5.5 and not even in Kindergarten yet!!! He sure is a very smart boy. We are all very proud of him!!
