This morning Philip flew back to Texas... in fact he is still on the plane... 6 more hours to go!!! This means our Taiwan vacation has come to the half point. 4 weeks has flown by so fast... I really enjoyed the whole family being together 24 hours a day, for 4 weeks. I knew vacation always goes by quickly... but it still upsets me.Lots of things happened during these past 4 weeks.

We went to 花蓮 with my dad & A-Yi, we had a fun 4 day vacation there. Then we went to 台中 for 2 weeks to spend time with Philip's families... then we came back to my dad's 4 days ago.. and this morning at 5 am my dad took Philip to the airport. I wish this vacation was longer, and it's already come to the half point.

Acacia has grown a lot during the last 4 weeks. When we came back to Taiwan she only had 2 bottom teeth, now her upper 4 teeth already all came out, so by the time we go back to the US she will have at least 6 teeth. She will have her 1st birthday here, and I plan on buying a small cute birthday cake for her, since cakes here are MUCH yummier than the ones back home. She loves to cruise around, and she can sometimes even stands by herself for a few seconds. I guess when she turns 1 she will be walking. She is so much more responsive now, constantly shocks me how much she knows. She learnt to wave bye bye all by herself(like  a 招財貓, very cute), but usually a little late. She blows bubbles to entertain us, VERY FUNNY! She loves to sing and wiggle her body when she hears music. She climbs up and down, with no fear. And she seems to understand a lot of what we adults say, which is pretty scary to me. She lets me know she is grasping a lot of information in her brain and that I need to start teaching her stuff. No longer just a little baby!!!

The boys are sometimes bored here, asking to go back to TX. But now daddy is away, I try to let them follow a good schedule. For 2 days Timothy practiced mental math book 1. He really likes it and is very good at it, and Jacob is very proud to be his brother's little coach. Jacob also does his math homework everyday. Sometimes my dad will take them to swimming, and I try to limit their TV watching to as little as possible. I ask Timothy to draw what he experiences in the daily life. And they are learning to have good habits, like being polite, folding and putting away laundry, eating meals on time..... etc...A-ma is very good in teaching them and usually is very patient with the kids. I really appreciate how A-ma takes time to cook yummy foods for us, and help taking care of the kids for me.

Acacia takes to my dad easily. From day 1 she loves 公公 and has no problem playing with him and being held by 公公 . I guess it's because 公公  looks a lot like mommy so she feels very comfortable.

We went to 台南 today after lunch to visit my aunt and uncle. The boys loved playing at 姑婆家's community playground and we had a good time chatting at McDonald's.

I got an email from Philip that he sent while transferring flights in Narita. Just reading his email made me all teared up. I started missing him before he left the house this morning, and can't wait to see him back home in another ... maybe 40 days. Take good care of yourself, honey!!!
